I think DDF was a really great experience that provided exposure to the many different sides of the digital world. I thought it was really great in regards to how inclusive they were by including sign language interpreters and having performances that incorporated disabilities to show them in a new light. The discussions held were also really insightful and I was grateful to see the diversity across the panels.

The festival and all it offered was really fun and interesting! I think it had a lot to do with the topics chosen for the forums and workshops which had a range of diverse and very informative topics. The forums and workshop that especially appealed to me were the Portraying Minorities workshop, and the Digital Divide: Gender and Censorship and Controversy forums. But also, I really loved the designs for the festival. It definitely caught my eye the first time I was your poster and merch. In terms of the execution of the event, there were some sound issues but other than that, it was an overall great event. Really looking forward to any future festivals like this again.

I thought the discussion I watched (Controversy and Censorship) was really interesting 🙂 Visual-wise it looked like a professional forum. The only criticism I have is that for this one dude, you can barely hear him because the mic he’s holding is so far away from his mouth because of the gestures he’s making.

For one, I thought it was impressively professional the way y'all ran it, with the whole crew, plus being real helpful and respectful with Nesreen unable to show her face. And the team was super patient with us too so thanks for that! Plus I love how the topics covered were really hard hitting, important issues to be addressed, but y'all give us the flexibility to tackle it in a creative way. Hmmm only downside I'd say is that I thought the viewership would be higher! But I suppose that one is hard to control. But all in all, I really enjoyed my time, and Nesreen said the same too when I spoke to her after!

DDF promoted and brought media practitioners, diversity advocates, digital enthusiasts and many more into dialogue. DDF increased creativity and offered opportunities and knowledges for the community, as well as explored the challenges and opportunities digital media provides for the nations harmony through various activities virtually. In short, DDF make cities better places to live. For my session, its a good session but I wish it did not happen during lunch time because as the host informed me there were more who registered but only 4 of them joined in.

Happy to have shared ideas and have them evolve through inputs from other panelists. Even the panelists appear to have learned a lot, this showcasing how diverse the knowledge pool was. Made us realise that there is actually unity in diversity, and the future is an exciting place. One of the bright spots towards the end of a dismal year, can't wait for the next one.

In this highly-interconnected world, it is surprising how few opportunities we have to sit down, discuss, agree, disagree, learn, share, discover, speak, and, even more importantly, listen. The digital diversity festival is one of those much needed platforms for encounter. I am proud to have participated in it.

DDF is an awesome platform to celebrate diversity in culture, heritage and opinions as well. I love that the format is entertainment weaved in forums, workshops and performances while counting down to the New Year!
